“Show Us the World | FVM” is an international competition and exhibition that was launched in 2011, in Saguenay, with the aim of promoting photography and opening to the public a window on the world. By raising awareness of the beauty of our planet, we want to inspire the public to protect its environment.
Developed with the support of CGI and UQAC based on a concept by Claire Gressier and Sophie Gagnon-Bergeron, FVM is now part of the cultural landscape of Saguenay and receives strong international enthusiasm. The competition attracts the participation of photographers from over thirty countries around the world. The best award-winning images are assembled into a travelling exhibition to be displayed in several countries. The winning photographs were published in the National Geographic and the Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay.
“Show Us the World | FVM” also presents non-competitive exhibitions offering a reflection on the diversity, the beauty and sometimes the fragility of our world.
As photographers, Christian Vizl says, "photography is capable of providing real services to humanity, promoting empathy and initiating change". It is at the service of our planet that FVM has used this powerful medium to send a strong message to the public and encourage it to preserve our endangered natural heritage.
